Krabi

Places to see (click on the words to know)

Sightseeing: Wat Tham Sua, Wat Kaew Korawaram, Railay beach, Tab Kak Hang Nak Hill Nature,

Day Trip: Ao Thalane, Four Island Tour, Phi-Phi Island Tour, Hong Island Tour,

For PHYSICALLY FIT people who don’t mind hiking, Krabi provides plentiful option to explore. Below is must-see list for them:

Wat Tham Sua (Tiger Cave Temple)  Well known for the tiger paw prints in the cave, tall Buddha statues and the strenuous flight of stairs to reach the summit, appox 1260steps. But the view from the summit is amazing.

Railay beach is just like one of the beaches you dream about before going to Thailand, the pristine beaches, the soaring cliffs, the laidback vibe and cerulean sea. But yes..opinions differ.

Railay beach

The best highlight about Railay beach is the viewpoint. It is about 15min hike but steep climb over cliff, so wear hiking shoes. But view from the top makes the hike worth it.

Tab Kak Hang Nak Hill Nature: It is actually a trail through one of Thailand’s national park and is a 4km uphill walk through the tropical rainforest. There are pools along the trail and you can take a dip. But the weather is really hot and humid.

Ao Thalane A really beautiful part of Thailand. It’s a small fishing village.  Best place in Thailand for kayaking and I will strongly suggest it. If this is the first time you are kayaking, you need not worry. Most of the tour operators provide instructors for the first timers. You will love the local mangrove ecosystem and there are gorgeous bays, canyons, caves and rock formations to explore.

Besides these, when you’re in Krabi, you will be roped in to go for either 4 Island Tour or Phi-Phi Island Tour or Hong Island Tour. Am keeping in short what’s there to see:

Four Island Tour (you’ll find everyone talking about it but if you want to give this tour a miss, I don’t think you’ll be regretting)

1.Phra Nang Cave Beach (don’t forget to see the cave if you indeed take up this tour)

2.Chicken Island: nothings impressive except crowd and beach.

3.Tup Island: beach again

4.Poda Island: the best as in the terms being less crowded and clean.

Phi-Phi Island Tour: If you like underwater diving or snorkelling, then go in for Phi-Phi Island Tour. Although, as usual, you’ll find these islands crowded too.

Phi-Phi Island Tour

Hong Island Tour: less popular with tourists, hence you’ll find the much needed peace and quiet at a beach if you can take the early morning tour. Snorkelling is best here. Although you aren’t getting to see 4 islands..but still among the three, I think this is the best.

Hong Island Tour

Don’t forget to visit Wat Kaew Korawaram..a beautiful white temple somewhat similar to Chiang Mai (especially at sunset).
